Studies on the anopheline fauna of Bastar district conducted by Husainy was quoted by Dr. T. Ramchandra Rao in his book entitled " The Anophelines of India" (1981) on page 362 as follows :- "In a recent survey in Bastar district of Madhya Pradesh by Husainy (1978) only 71 adults were collected out of 21,716 anophelines of all species. Analysing this small collection, Husainy found that : (1) the specimens were found mainly in forest areas; (2) the feeding activities in general were completed before midnight; (3) the species was more prevalent during the cold season; (4) the altitude of occurrence ranged from 48 to 761 meters; (5) 68 of the 71 specimens were collected at night and two were collected in cattle sheds during daytime." 2. Published 35 scientific papers in various scientific journals (List appended). 3. Delivered several radio talks on radio station Akashwani, Jagdalpur, India. in 1980 on mosquito and mosquito borne diseases in Hindi language. 4. Chief Guest, Students Zoological Association, Jagdalpur, Bastar district., India in 1981. 5. Established a museum of literature in 1974 on arthropods and arthropod borne diseases at Bhopal, India. and collected over 5,000 reprints in this field. The collection of reprints continues. 6. Started publication of the research journal "The Annals of Medical Entomology" from January, 1992. 7. Attended several medical entomology, malaria and Anopheles seminars, conferences and workshops in India. 8. Launched a web site titled "The Annals of Medical Entomology" at URL : http://www.anmedent.com This site contains very useful information for the medical entomologists and is updated regularly by me. 10. Organized a seminar titled "Ist International of Medical Entomology-2003 at Bhopal" during 19 and 20th January, 2003. FOREIGN TOURS 1.
